TomatoBank Chairman Accepts Invitation to Speak at Annual Meeting

Alhambra, CA – TomatoBank, N.A. today announced that Dr. Stephen Liu, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, will act as keynote speaker at the Annual Meeting of the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce (LAJCC).  The Annual Meeting, to be held on August 7, 2007 in downtown Los Angeles, celebrates the LAJCC’s 83rd year of service in Los Angeles.

The mission of the LAJCC is to enrich the lives of young professionals in the greater Los Angeles area and to develop strong corporate, civic and nonprofit leaders through professional growth, leadership development, personal enrichment and community involvement.  The mission of the LAJCC Charity Foundation is to provide opportunities and resources that create a positive influence in the greater Los Angeles area by empowering individuals to become responsible, contributing members of their communities.

After receiving a bachelors degree from UCLA and a medical degree from USC, completing the Physician Executive Program and Health Care Management Masters Program at UCLA, and having served for several years as a director on the Board of American International Bank, Dr. Liu sought a challenge that would allow him to bring together the experiences learned as a disciplined academic surgeon, manager, leader and bank director. The challenge: to establish a premier bank focused on Los Angeles' multi-ethnic community, particularly the hard working immigrant community which for the most part has been underserved by large banks.

Dr. Liu has built a dynamic team that is able to execute his vision; concomitantly, he has created significant shareholder value.  TomatoBank was recently ranked 58th (2006) among California banks relative to return on average assets.  This represents a significant improvement over the prior year’s 182nd ranking (2005) among the approximately 300 California banks.

“I am thrilled about the opportunity to address the LAJCC.  Very few organizations have had such great success.  For over 80 years the LAJCC has played an active role in shaping Los Angeles for the better.  It is an honor to be provided with this opportunity,” said Dr. Liu.
